HUNNIC TRIBES, Kidarites. Peroz, 5th century. Dinar (Gold, 21 mm, 7.82 g, 12 h), Gandhara. Peroz standing front, head to left, sacrificing with his right hand over lighted altar and holding standard in his left; to upper left, filleted trident; in field to right, 'Gandhara'; below left arm, 'Peroyasa'; in lower field to left, 'Kapana'; all in Brahmi. Rev. Ardoxsho enthroned facing, holding cornucopiae in her left hand and diadem in her right; to upper left, tamgha; to right, 'Sha' monogram. ANS Kushan 2420. Cribb, Kidarites, pl. 4, 36. Sharply struck and attractive. Minor die break on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
